Exciting Times; and We Need Your Help

If you have been around the Michaels Ave Reserve lately, you will have noticed that a section of the bank has now been fenced off. That’s because the Ellerslie Football and Cricket Clubs have jointly started building a new Clubrooms Complex.

Our vision is for this to be a Hub for the community, with meeting rooms, a bar, club offices and changing facilities that can be used not just by the two clubs, but also by community groups.

We are very excited to have received all consents needed for the build to commence, as the pictures below illustrate.

The Complex will include:

Upper Clubrooms Block - Club Lounge/Function area, Bar/Food Catering area, 2 x Meeting Rooms, Multi Office Administration area, Terrace areas and Public Toilets.

Lower Amenities Block - 8 x Changing Rooms, Referees' Changing Rooms (male/female), First Aid/Physio Rooms, Storage areas and Public Toilets.

Current Status of Project

With building consent obtained, we have contracted Robert Cunningham Construction Ltd to complete the build, which is targeted to be finished by 31 March 2022. The first of the foundations have been laid, and we could not be more excited!

Through a combination of the support from our community via fundraising ($426,000), together with Grant Funding, we have raised what we need to complete the Amenities Level, together with the exterior shell of the Upper Level - $4,790,000 (i.e. Stage 1).

A big thank you to so many of you that have supported us in these fundraising efforts to date!

But we still need the support of the community to complete the build...

While we have the funds for Stage 1, we need a further $1 million to fit out the Clubrooms interior, and to create the Ellerslie Community hub that we all envision.

How Can You Help?

We now need all the help we can get, please, to fundraise for this additional $1 million.

Together, we can make this Complex the Hub of our community, providing;

Facilities that both the Ellerslie Football and Cricket Club communities can be proud of
Facilities that cater for our growing female membership, including safe changing rooms and separate toilets
A location for community events (including beyond football and cricket)
A social centre for the community, including a bar, clubrooms and meeting rooms
