Using ClubHub and UpFront for Newsletters

Services like MailChimp can be expensive. You can use your website and ClubHub to send your newsletters.

Create the newsletter

First create and publish the newsletter in your website. If you create a navigation item called Newsletters, and then add every newsletter to it (like the example in this website) then

  1. your organisation has a history of newsletters
  2. new members can read older newsletters if they wish.

Send the Newsletter to Members

In ClubHub, when you want to circulate the newsletter

  1. compose an email to every member (Contact >> All Members by Type)
  2. set the subject to September 2020 XYZ Newsletter (or similar)
  3. in the Message enter any text required, then create a link to the relevant newsletter URL created in your website *
  4. send the email.

* the link can be

  • text i.e. type September 2020 XYZ Newsletter, then select that text and press the Link icon to enter the URL
  • an image that can be clicked to open the URL i.e. create the image required, include the image in the email, rightclick the image and enter the URL via the Link tab.

Note: while you accustom yourself to publishing in this manner, consider creating the newsletter email just for yourself or another administrator to check it's going to look as expected when received.
